Our Undergraduate Summer Internship is a 10-week professional development programme that takes place in our London and Brighton offices. Interns work on meaningful projects that link to our key business priorities, attend our Executive Speaker Series and participate in numerous exciting social activities. Through a combination of training, networking and mentoring, we’ll help you carve out your place at American Express, both personally and professionally. This opportunity is open to all penultimate-year students and it serves as a pipeline for our full-time Graduate Programme.
Our 12-month Industrial Placement Programmes are open to students who are required to complete a year in industry as part of their degree course. They offer real responsibility from day one, an insight into our business and they act as a primary pipeline for our Graduate Programme.
Our Full-Time Graduate Programme for undergraduate and master’s students start in September and are designed to expand your business expertise while helping you to accelerate your career from day one. Depending on the business area, you will experience an 18, 24, or 36 month programme which offers real responsibility, challenging assignments, Executive Speaker Series, networking, and buddy and mentor initiatives.
Our Technologies MSc Programme is a 2-year programme for master's students looking for blue chip commercial experience. You’ll be involved with projects through a variety of roles, from project manager and business analyst to programmer.
Our Summer Internship Programme runs for 10 weeks from June to August and takes place in our London office. This internship is structured around one strategic project designed to showcase your abilities while challenging you professionally. At the end of the project, you’ll present your work to senior leadership. Join us and you will have the opportunity to network with Senior Executives, alumni from your business schools and join fellow interns on a variety of social activities. This opportunity serves as a pipeline for our Full-time MBA Manager Programme.
Our Full-Time Programme includes rotational and non-rotational opportunities for MBA students, depending on business requirements. Each programme offers customized leadership training with a structured and personal approach to learning.

HOW DO I APPLY
Please apply online directly to the programme/business unit you would like to join. The application process for our Undergraduate Programmes (Summer Internship Programme, Industrial Placement Programme and Full-time Graduate Programme) consists of 4 stages:
- Submit your CV & Cover Letter online
- Online Test
- Telephone Interview
- Assessment Center – this final stage will take place in our London office. Successful candidates will participate in two interviews, a case study exercise followed by a presentation and group discussion.
The application process for our MBA Programmes (MBA Summer Internship Programme and the Full-time MBA Programme) consists of 3 stages:

- 2 on-campus/phone interviews with our Director assessors
- 2 interviews in our London office with our VP assessors
